One of our original Playgroupers, Helena was at our very first event in 2012 as a brand new beginner. She now plays for several Morris sides in addition to running steady-speed sessions in Surrey.  She has taught Absolute Beginners at Melodeon Playgroup since 2018 and is now taking over the Beginners level for 2026.

On the folk festival circuit you’ll find Helena working with Ed Rennie presenting ‘Squeezebox from Scratch’ workshops for Absolute Beginner to Improver level and in 2025 Squeezebox from Scratch could be found at Sidmouth Folk Festival and Shrewsbury Folk Festival. In addition Helena is taking the Absolute Beginners at Bellows and Buttons tuition weekend in November 2025 at Wolvercote.
